John Novacek's cello sonata premiered at Festival Mozaic in San Luis Obispo, California on July 23, 2011. It was performed by cellist Michelle Djokic with the composer on piano. The review in The Tribune said the "hymn-like final movement left in its wake a shared silence as beautiful as any music."
The recording of Sounding Piece below was done at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival in 2015.
